Goals set- 13th may 2013!!

I will get the draft done by the end of the week- I still need to add captions,music,voice over and to edit up my footage from Saturday 11th May and some other bits . The small little bits can be added by next week lie the sound and captions. I just need to get it all in sequence by the end of the week.

I will need to start planning out our animation and to get it done by Wednesday for it to be filmed.

I need to to edit the podcast for Matt ,just to finalize it and I need to do the questionnaire by the end of today!!

Saturday 11th May 2013 Filming !!

I went to Holbrook again to re do my interviews with the fitness manager and to interview some of the gym members, due to the technical problem before. I was looking forward to going back again because I did enjoy it last time. However the gym was a lot more quiet and there wasn't  many people in the gym. Whereas before it was really busy and their were more different age groups inside the gym. 

I did my interview with Tom the fitness manager again and that went really well.

I did approach people in the gym and I told them about my project and if they be up for me to interview them. Some of them at first was a bit unsure when I said it has to be filmed, but that is understandable.  How ever they did come over to me and say do you still want to interview with me. Obviously he was a bit like no not really when I first asked them, but they said yea go on then. I thanked them and they were really nice. I did talk to some of my interviewees after the interview and I just started a general conversation and it was nice having a chat with them after the interview. I saw some nice older ladies I told them about my project and just about me in general. Both of them were really nice and we had a chat and a laugh in the gym. 

I was going around the gym I know everyone was working out and I I didn't want to disturb them,but I  would try and get them as they were going around the gym. I saw a lady on the bike machine, but she had her headphones in. I didn't want to disturb her on it, but she was getting off; I was like I'm going to ask her. The lady was really nice and she didn't mid me interviewing her. I enjoyed the interview with her because she answered in more detail and so did another lady. After the interview we did have a chat after and she was lovely.    

I interviewed quite a lot of guys in the gym, but I was hoping there be some more women in there.  I wanted to mix it up with getting different age groups of people from each a gender. I interviewed a young guy, he was nice, a big man who you could see he works out a bit and like an old ish man.I interviewed some women who were young,middle aged, etc. All the people seemed really nice and friendly.

I did some filming from the out side of the building, because i wanted to get a close up the sign and then I did zoom out into a long shot(concentrates on the background in full detail which relates  to my subject). In my shot was a stupid tree that was in the middle of the sign and that was annoying. I did try out the shots a few times to see if I could work round it,but I obviously I can't move the tree. I did  capture  all the words, but the first two words seem to be alright and the other one had a tree in front of it. The weather that day was very windy outside and the footage is a bit wind swept as you can see the footage moving funny. The majority of it is fine, I did do a panning shot as well, just so you can see the whole building from left to right. 

I have to admit that first day I went to Holbrook that was the best day ever, because there was so much going on,I was filming a lot in the gym, in other areas, I interviewed loads of people from different ages  who were really nice. I had  interviews with young guys before leading up to the big tough guys, and then to young teenage girls leading up to middle aged women. The atmosphere last time was immanence as there were loads of people in the gym, the personal trainer from last time was nice and we had a good old chat. I just loved being there and I did this time too , but it was better the first time round .It was a shame that there wasn't many people at the gym the second time. However I did get my interviews done and the sound picked up this time thank god.

Tuesday 23rd April - evening !!

I thought to just do some other shots of fruit where they each form a line of fruit and it animates on the table. I thought to do a second line of it , but have the fruit in a different order. I would move the fruit down in one motion each time, I would photograph it one shot after one shot to show the movement. I would create a smiley face and another un smiley face. It would tilt round as it's forming that facial expression. I would position the camera from a high angle down shot,so that it can be shown from a wider shot. I would play around with the fruit to see if there was another shot of stop motion I could use. I would just position the tomatoes and the apple in the center and they would move out like it's forming a circle in and out moving.I did at first create a close up of the fruit animating on the table,but then I thought you can't see all of the other fruit animating on the table. I thought to do a long shot of the full area of fruit animating and twisting around to form shapes and smiley faces.

I did some still shots of the food in general on the table which I could use in my documentary. I have some other shots from last time,so I see when it comes to the edit. 

Annoying - I wasn't sure what way was best to film it because there was stuff in the background and I didn't want it in shot. I moved some bits and then it looked fine. I wasn't sure if the stop motion it portrait but then I thought there won't be a enough room that way. So I thought to stop motion it landscape and then you will be able to see a lot better. The sun was coming in a bit as it was very bright and then it would go dull for a sec and then bright. That was annoying as the sun kept changing it's brightness. Sometimes I would use the flash and sometimes I wouldn't use it. I can just see how it goes and put it together. I can speed  it up if I need to, so I will play around with it. 

Thursday 25th April - Filming !!

I interviewed my friend Jamie about his fitness,eating healthy and why he thinks it's important to keep fit.eat healthy too.

We had a change of location I originally I waned to film him near the duck pond where there is a lot of greenery and there is a park. But because he had work in a hour or, so I filmed him on the greenery in Stoke road. At first I didn't think there was a field, but there was and it was quiet at 9 am.

Interviewing - I didn't use the microphone due to the day before where I had no sound with my interviewees at the gym. But I tested the microphone before I left to see if it would work without the microphone and it worked fine. I tested it there and then with Jamie, I would tested it out and I played   it back and the sound was fine. I couldn't solve the problem with the microphone,so I didn't know what was wrong with it,but there was an issue with it.The interview was fine, I think he gave a few quick sentences of his answers  but there were some long answers as well. It was filmed in one shot and then I did my cutaways.

I told him what shots I wanted to get- I was all technical again with what  camera shots I wanted to get. Another one was like what that,as I was expecting. I explained to him,but then I did explain what camera shots I wanted and what I wanted him to do, just a few days ago before the day of filming. It took a bit of time because he was a bit grumpy as it was too early for him. So as each shot came I tell him what shot I want and he be like whats a mid shot,etc. I be like oh my I already explained all this just a few minutes ago. I did explain again and then he would get into position. I'll be like go and I got some different cutaways of him running, working his muscles and warming up. I thought if we were in the park I could of had him on the monkey bars working his muscles- that would of been good and more effective. I just had a mid-shot of him pumping up his muscles which looks fine but the monkey bars would have been a lot better.

 When I was filming I was testing some of my shots out to see if it would work . camera shot - low angle to show the speed of him running. I would do a side view angle shot of his feet running,but it didn't work. Then I tried a panning shot of him running, but then that didn't look right because the shot would go of the screen. I  then thought of filming in a different  direction of the camera in front - low angle and he would run from a distance towards the camera.I would get a few seconds of the speed as he comes towards me . Then I thought where he's from a distance ;I could get a close up and pan all the way down as he is to show the fast motion of  him  running. They both looked fine. we got there eventually, but he did moan a bit I thought I was bad haha. But it was alright, I got there in the end with him.

Production Diary - Wednesday 24th April

I went to Holbrook Leisure Center 

 I was filming inside the gym-I told people about my project- what  I'm doing and I asked them would it be ok if I could film them on the equipment and they said yea it was fine. I got a lot of  different shots/cutaways with the members on the equipment and  inside the gym in general. I just need to edit and put ,y footage together. Inside the gym I was talking very technical to Tom and the the gym members with what camera shots I wanted to get.I did explain to them what I meant as their faces were a bit what you on about. 

I filmed inside a body combat session and that was brilliant.The music was proper loud and really dancey which I love that type of music. The energy these people had was incredible to watch as they were really getting into it ,so was the teacher she was nice. I said to Tom I really want to join in because it looks really fun. 

I interviewed the fitness manager-(I got cutaways of Tom in his work area)

Once I finished the interview with Tom I said to him can I get some cutaways of him. His face was like what , but he laughed I explained what I meant- he was like really you got do that and he started laughing. I got some good cutaways of him in his work area and there was this other guy in his office. I was talking to him and he asked me what my project was about. He seemed to like my idea and we were all having a laugh which was good. After - The battery was flashing after a long time,I said to Tom I need to get some cutaways of you before the battery dies because it's going to be dying out on me shortly, I was like oh great .I know I should have took the charger with me because then I could have charged in up for a little bit.I 've realized that I should have packed it which I thought I did, but obviously I didn't.  

I interviewed different age groups of people who were inside the gym. At first with approaching people inside the gym to interview them;I was a bit like nervous because I didn't know how they would react with me coming up to them. Some people could have been a bit funny with me asking them if I can interview them for my documentary. Once I did the first  approach and  the interview; I felt really confident with approaching people in the gym and doing the interview.Whereas before I was like oh my god, but I knew I had to just do it and I was like it's going be fine which it was. Everyone I asked seemed to be fine with me interviewing them and just asking them a few questions about their fitness and why they come to Holbrook leisure Center.The people I spoke to interview them were really nice and friendly. I would have a general chat with them after the interview,it was nice. I feel a lot more confident now interviewing people. before I was a bit wary what if the questions don't sound right or they don't know what I mean.It was fine though they said their good general questions.  I had quite a few interviews at the gym. I had an interview with Tom the fitness manager and that went really well.I showed him the questions beforehand, so he felt more at ease when I ask him the questions.

Inside the gym I would just go up to people and  I would  just start a conversation with them.I thought to be friendly and make a conversation. I would just have a chat to them just in general and the conversations would go on for bit which was great .I told them what I was doing and they seemed interested. I didn't think any of them would speak to me, but they did. It was nice talking to different people and they all seemed nice.I felt more confident and just going around and talking to people, I felt great after all the interviews had filmed. In a way I didn't want it to end because the people I interviewed were great.It was fantastic interviewing them and getting to know them a bit more. I got on well with Tom and we was having a laugh and great conversation.I was talking to a personal trainer as well who was inside the gym,he was really nice we had a good conversation.

 Camera Shot's experiments:
When I was filming the lady on the treadmill as the machine was right opposite the window, there was a lot of light coming in and it was hard to get a close up of the machine that way.So I thought to change the other way and get a close up of the other machine where there be no light exposure. I thought it be good to show the buttons  of the screens as it tells you hoe you are doing.I got a shot of her on the treadmill  but the light was dying down which made it look really dull when I watched her on it. But I can increase the brightness and the contrast in Premiere Pro  and hopefully that will work. 

Rowing machine
At first  I knew how I wanted to camera shot it.But I did find it hard to get my shot because when the guy was on it he would be pulling back and then the camera be in that position and then he'll be out of shot. Then I filmed him from a much wider angle,but then I didn't want to get the other machines in shot. I got my shot in the end as he was on the other rowing machine in the far distance where it's out of shot from the other machine near by. I wanted to get a close up of him pulling back the row strings. It was hard because the camera was behind him, as he pulled back the tripod would move a bit bit. I wanted to get a close up of the bars from a down point shot from his perspective. I got there in the end by lowering the tripod and then I would position the camera to the side of him and I would zoom into his hands  while he is pulling back on the string bar. I think it looks alright,I just wanted to shoe the speed of how fast he was going. I think if I asked him to pull back to a certain point,instead of all the way back it would have been a better shot. He would pull back and  then he be out of shot for a second and then back to push in. I should have said at the time,but I should have said,but I didn't. In the end  just filmed from a different perspective where you couldn't get the other rowing machines in the way.   

After the day had finished, I was like oh my god that was brilliant,I loved it. I just wanted to go back because I really enjoyed it, it was fantastic. I felt pleased and more confident with my self that I did all the filming on my own,I went up to people to ask them if  I could interview them on my own,I got my cutaways,I started a conversation with people,it flowed really well and I got my shots that I wanted all on my own and I entered a production day that I fully enjoyed,I want to go back because it was so good.   


I got home in the evening,I thought to look back at the footage and when I did I had a problem. I watched over my interviews, my camera shots were  mid-shot close up  that was brill. I pressed the play button and there was no sound at all. I thought the volume might have been low and I turned it up in my icon tray.There was no sound playing at all,I was like shit and I felt so pissed off .I couldn't believe it because I thought it went well,but no sound had picked up.

 I was testing the microphone out that evening I got back. I was making sure everything was plugged in properly .I would test the microphone and there be no sound when I recorded my voice. I put my headphones in, there was a fuzzing effect in both headphones.So I knew that the microphone was the problem,it was faulty. If I checked it that morning and then I would have of known the problem there and then.I emailed Tom that evening about what happened and I was hoping to film the following Wednesday.  I did check the microphone the night before,but I should have checked the microphone that day to check it was working. I assume it would be fine, but it wasn't. I felt so gutted and so annoyed that night. My own fault I guess,I wished you could rewind time and go back to that amazing day and redo it. I now know to check the microphone and to test it out beforehand. I don't want any problems like that again, that's for sure.

Timeline - Progression of my documentary

In lesson today we created a timeline of how we are going to structure a documentary?

What we did:

We had a massive piece of paper and we drawn a line in the middle of the paper. The next stage is that we were given  sticky notes , so we can write down  our important key questions on there and other info to help us form our documentary.

We positioned them in order and then we number them 1 -10. We muddled it up to see if our documentary would make sense. It did still make sense because I have the rough questions that I would ask my interviewees and I would know what my documentary is all about and what I  want to find out as well.

The time line is a good progression step because we can include what we want  in our documentary. I want to ask questions about their fitness,about healthy eating,why they came to Gosport Leisure Center,was there a specific area they wanted to tone /lose weight from,why do you eat junk food compared to a more healthier option, what attracts you to eat junk food then healthy foods and just general questions like that.It  made me  think of what kinder shots I want to capture,what camera shots I want to get from my questions,voice overs through ought the start and in the middle of  documentary.The timeline is a great way to see how you want to structure your documentary by adding bits to it.It can make you think what you may want to include or you may come up with an idea which you have never thought of before.

At the start of my documentary, I want to include open questions to make people intrigued to watch it and to show some quick scenes of what is coming up in my documentary.

Goals -Start of the week - from the 7th May 2013

Chase up my other interviewees -I need to contact  Megan and I have contacted the fitness manager again,but I'm just wating to hear back from him.


Add to production diary - I need to add to this - Wednesday 24th April. I have complted this.

I want to get all my interviews interviewed and filmed by the end of the week. This was sort of done, apart from I need to film my interviews at holbrook again, due to a technical problem.

 I just need to get some cutaways of Liam,Megan ,Adam and Jason.I'm filming Jason and Liam on Thursday to get some cutaways of them.I will need to chase up Megan to get cutaways and Adam.

I want to put my footage into bins, so it's easier to find the footage - I need to start doing this and putting them into bins

I want to try get a rough edit done of what footage I am going to use and to edit it all up.I will try and get this done by this week.

Unfortunatley I didn't get it done last week due to the animation. I will try to get most of my clips edited into a rough cut.

I need to record my voice overs for my documentary I will do this today at some point.

FMP Production Diary

3rd Febuary 2013
Here I have contacted my friend Calum back in February about my project. I just asked him if he did anything to keep fit or anything. He was in why intrigued asked him as I was expecting. I told him about my project that I'm doing. He said he be happy,but I didn't mind if he wanted to be part of my documentary or not as I have other people too.But he said he was happy to help me out. 

Monday 25th March

I have told my friends that I will be filming after the Easter holidays, the week we get back hopefully.They all sad that was fine. I will just have to give them more details nearer the time.I did text them about when is the best day for me to interview them. My friend Heather said she is free Monday the 15th April during the day as she has college. I have my friend Megan and she said she can film Tuesday 16th April. My friend Calum said he can do the 17th April.

 I  have asked Liam and Jason if I can film them after the Easter holidays, the week we get back and they said that was fine. I had to Facebook my friend Jamie because he doesn't have a phone at the moment. But he hasn't replied to my message, so I will have to message him again. I can ask Georgie about interviewing her when I get back. On the day I was travelling (28 th March) to go on holiday. I did email the fitness manager, asking him if it be ok for me to film and interview him after the Easter holidays. He said it was fine; I just got to let him know what days and dates to go there. I phoned the health trainer as well on the 28th March. I just told him that I’m going be away over Easter. I asked him if it be possible to interview him after the Easter holidays. He said that was fine and that he was away over Easter too. He just asked me to give him a ring when I get back and then we can arrange a day and times. He said he was looking forward to it which was nice to hear and I'm looking forward to it too.

My friend Heather said she can do Monday. But I have no equipment booked out for the Monday we get back. But if I ask Ingrid she may let me use the equipment if I ask her. So I will have to see about that. But thinking of that I would want my interviewee to wear something sporty, so it links into my theme.

 Professionals - experts!!
 I need to think of the days when is best to go to Holbrook to film the fitness manager and at the NHS to interview the health trainer. It depends what days they can as well because they maybe busy or have meetings etc. I will need to email the fitness manager when I get back from holiday. 

9th March

Thinking about my interviewees I haven’t even booked out equipment which I was meant to do before I left on Wednesday 27th March. Damn, so when I get back I will need to book it out on Monday -15th April.

  Monday 15th April

 I have gone down to see Ingrid about the equipment and I have booked it out for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I did ask Ingrid if there was anyone using the green screen, but she said there are lessons in there. But there are time slots where no one is in there ,but it's like half hour in different times of the day. Some other people maybe using the green screen, that's if they show up. So that maybe a problem then, or less I don't use the green screen. But I thought it be good to use with using an image of healthy eating in the background relating to my theme. I have asked  Liam and Jason today about interviewing them on Tuesday 16th April. I asked them would it be possible to have them bring in some sport wear for them to wear, so it links to my theme. They said that was fine, so that’s all good.

I have contacted my friend Calum on Monday 15th April and I have asked if he's still alright to film Wednesday 17th April. But he said that it's fine ,but he said he will be free at half two/3. I will ask Ingrid today - Tuesday 16th April when I go down to the studio to see what time the studio will be free tomorrow.

I have contacted my friend Megan to see if it will be ok to interview her and to get some cutaways of her running on the field. I have arranged to do the interview with her at half twelve - Tuesday 16th April. Hopefully I will be able to use the studio. Ingrid said there maybe a class in there or some other people. Then I may just film her outside on the field, but we will see.

I have contacted my friend Heather today during lesson about interviewing her tomorrow or Wednesday. But she hasn't got back to me yet. I just want to get my friends interviews out the way this week , that would be great.But I doubt I will, but we will see. 

I have emailed the fitness manager, a bit late my reply=/ – Monday 15th April. I just have to wait for a reply now, hopefully it will be ok. I did get a reply back from him on Wednesday 17th April. He said that he is free for me to do filming Wednesday.He said there is a body combat session which I maybe able to film, just gotta ask permission,but if not he said I maybe able to film at the main courts. I sent him a reply Wednesday 17th April and I said that I am happy to come in Wednesday to film. 

Tuesday 16th April

I have asked Liam and Jason when is best for to interview them and they said they don't mind. So I'm going to interview them at half twelve and Megan as well, but we will have to be quick as there is a class in the studio at one. 

Today Didn't go to plan at all with filming. I went down to the studio there was a class in there which over runned over my time slot-half twelve. Ingrid wasn't there, even though I did ask her if I can film at half twelve in the studio and she said it was fine. That is annoying because I was hoping to get some interviewees filmed today .I felt bad that Liam and Jason brought in their clothes to wear for the interview. I told my friend Megan that I couldn't film today, but they seemed fine with it.It is annoying I was like oh great, I was looking forward to filming. Especially when I booked out that time slot with her, but she probably forgot as you do. I was going to edit it afterwards by filming in Adobe Premire Pro to get some editing done. But I will have to film that all and arrange with my friend Megan to do it another day. I asked Liam and Jason when they could film and they said Friday will be fine.  Hopefully it will go to plan this time.

Damn I was meant to ask Ingrid about the time slots for tomorrow because I'm meant to be interviewing my other mate. But he said he can do half two/three , he thinks. So I will have to go and see Ingrid tomorrow. I will have to contact my mate and let him know whats going on. if I can't film then I will have to film another day. 

Wednesday 17th April-
I msg my fiends to see if they could film Friday 19th April, due just because I have booked out the studio for twelve. I'm filming Liam and Jason that day and then I can get some cutaways of them running and cycling, etc.I thought I'd ask my other friends if they can,but Calum  said he maybe able to do Friday,so I told Calum to just let me know. But he hasn't so I will have to contact him. Heather said she's busy Friday which is fair enough and I asked her when she will be next free, but she hasn't got back to me. Megan said she couldn't do Friday, but she can do Monday between 10-2. I said to her I will have see if the studio is free then,But I said I will let her know Friday. I will ask Ingrid on Friday 19th April to see if the studio is free Monday.

I was thinking when I interview Jamie I could film him down at Gosport near the duck pond where that park is. It has monkey bars, I thought it be quite good to film him on that- working his muscles.I thought it be good to use for a cutaway. I would have him warming up before a run and I would interview him sitting down on the grass and then I will ask the questions. 

Thursday 18th April

 I need to film at home which I need to display the different nutrients on the table- for e.g. protein, carbohydrates, dairy, fruit and veg. I’m going to do some research into how to show a person how much sugar they consume in their bodies. By finding out if there is a good way to present it/how to do it. I’m going to show Adam how much sugar he has in his body which may shock him. 

I was thinking of filming some quick shots of some Wii games of Zumba, dance and Wii fit plus. Showing that there are different games as well that can help you lose weight. I will have to book equipment out to film at home as well which I could do on my day off Thursday 18th April. It won’t take that long to do and I can do it then which I’m happy to do some filming at home. 

I was meant to be interviewing my friend today, but he msg me saying he's got called into work. Yea that was a shame ,but things do happen.I was looking forward to filming, but he did say that he can do it next week.The weather today was very windy and I was thinking the smoring oh great. It is annoying when you are filming  in the wind because the tripod shakes,the legs lift up in the air,then you're trying to stabilise the tripod, but then the wind still knocks your camera shot.It is very hard to get the shot you want. I will have to ask him what day will he be free.

 I did go out shopping to get bits for my documentary of the different nutrients protein,carbohydrates,dairy,high saturated fat and fruit and veg. When I got back I did film and I did display the food out on the table in their specific area.At first I had idea how I wanted to film it;I wanted to film it like a grid where it  pans, like a circle of  the foods from one shot to the next. I did have a few little annoyances. I displayed the fruit and veg in one corner of the table, but then things were in the background which were in my shot. I moved everything out and then I would display the fruit and veg  next to the dairy products .When I was filming the dairy products,the fruit was in my shot.I moved the protein products to the right ,so I could just get the fruit and veg in my shot. I was then moving the camera into another position because you could see the plugs in the background,I didn't want to get them in my shot.

 It was hard to get my shot because I didn't want to get my food shots in the next shot where the other food was as I was panning to the right. So I did move the food about quite a lot  and I did squeeze some of the food close together to see if it would pan easily without getting the other foods in shot. I tried a close up shot of the foods, but then if I pan to the right it wouldn't get the next food in when I pan. I didn't want to zoom out as I am panning round. It wouldn't look right. I was thinking that it wasn't going to work and then I just positioned the food into columns on the table. I would pan down and then up on the foods to see how it would look. I thought I can display the facts above it or next to it.I could make the facts appear on the screen with arrows, linking to the right foods. I did do some close ups of the food as well in more closer detail.At the end after doing that shot which was probably easier to do. I just have to edit it and see how it goes. At the end I did gather all the food closer together in one long shot. The long shot concentrates on all of the different nutrients on the table. I would look at the camera and some of the food you couldn't see. I had to position it more closer to the center of the table ,so the camera could pick it up. 

I just need to film some bits on the Wii and I wanted to do some stock motion of the different fruits appearing on the table and moving around. I want to create the word 5 a day out of  the fruit, it be cool if it worked.But I was going to see if I can keep the equipment to do this. I will see Ingrid about it on Friday 19th April. I need to book equipment out for Wednesday 24th April as I am filming at Holbrook. I have booked the equipment out for that day.  

Friday 19th Apirl
I did film Liam,Jason and Adam today, it went well in the studio.I did set up the equipment and lights. I told my interviewees where I wanted them to stand and I did go through with the  what I was doing and what kinder questions I was going to ask. them They all seemed fine with it, it went well. The annoying thing was there was a group in the studio,It over runned again. I was like oh my god, it's my time slot. It was over runned by bout ten minutes which was annoying, second time now that's happened. It is annoying especially when I have booked it out for that time slot. I did ask Ingrid if I could take the equipment out over the weekend as I wanted to do some more re shoots and to film on the Wii. She said it was fine. Liam said he wants to use the green screen on Monday and I was like Oh I need it to. I said that my friend Megan said she can do 10-2,but he said that I could use the studio in the morning and he said he don't need it to near midday. We manage to compromise which is good. I did want to get some cutaways of them today: running,warming up and cycling.  But I couldn't because of the animation.I asked Liam and Jason if they are free Monday for me to get some cutaways and they said yea that was fine. It's all good. 

 when I filmed the different nutrients;I moved everything out the way and I positioned the food on the table-testing shots again. I thought I will film a long shot of the fruit and veg and then I will pan to the right.I wanted to pan from the fruit till the fruit was gone out of my shot. I filmed my next shot of my dairy products,but as you pan it round it tilts round. If you get what I mean because I wanted to do a panning shot from the left to the right, in one straight movement.Then you would get the other food in at the bottom as it would pan. I didn't want to zoom in on it and then zoom out from it, then I wouldn't have anywhere to animate my text. But because it's on the tripod, it won't obviously pan in one motion.If I had a dolly it would have easily of done my shot. I could have just glided the dolly to the right in a straight movement,whereas with the tripod I would of had to lift it up to move it to the right. It wouldn't of looked right at all, as you would most likely see it shake. I thought next time book the dolly out, but then I just wanted to film it then and there before all the fruit gets eaten.

 Later on after filming that first half.  I thought I could have displayed it a lot better by  filming each of the nutrients separate at a time. I thought that would be a lot easier to do as it won't make it so complicated. I can animate the facts onto the table. I just displayed each of the nutrients one at a time on the table. I would film it for a minute or so and then I would get a close up of the foods. I want leave enough time for my footage to animate the facts on.Close ups are used to concentrate on my product more in finer detail. As I was filming my different nutrients; I thought of creating a long shot of the fruit, veg ,protein,carbohydrates,saturated and unsaturated fat.  For e.g I have my long shot of the foods and then below it you can see the top of the table.As it was filming I thought I could animate my facts from my research onto the top of the table. It could be written on or just animated on the table. I think that would work really well. 

Saturday 20th April
I filmed some close ups on the Wii,video game of the different ways how you can exercise.It went well I filmed the different muscle work outs, yoga and mini games. I thought it be good to show the piggy bank, it shows how many calories you have burnt off. I thought it would be good to show it.I filmed some close ups of Zumba of the different genres of Zumba. I did some close ups of just dance 3 as well to show you there is different ways to lose weight. I did some stock motion of some fruit which animated on the table- I did it shot by shot where you see the fruit changes position to make a happy face and a sad face. I thought it be good to show  that people like fruit, visual image and some people don't like fruit , visual image. I will have a go editing it and I will see how it goes. I can add the reason why it's important to have your 5 aday- facts and why people don't like eating fruit. I did film a close up of the Wii games which I can explain what's good about the Wii games and how they help to lose weight.the text can be animated on the screen.

I looked back on my footage of the Wii and the shot looks slanted. I didn't want it too look slanted, I wanted to get a close up of the video games. I may have to re film that,depends if I can crop  the image of The TV. I will next time zoom in closer, so it concentrates just on the video game itself without getting the outline of the TV.

I did some filing in the green screen today as I was interviewing my friend Megan, I thought I could display an image of Bolton and Mo Farah in the background. It will link into my interview  as the topic is about running and can link into the athletes themselves. 

I have contacted my friend Jamie again, due to him not replying to my other message I sent him about 3 weeks ago. I asked him if he's still alright for me to interview him and he said that was fine. 

I asked him what day would be best to interview him and he said anytime this week.  I asked what day would be best and he said Thursday-18th February  I have told him that I want to get some cutaways of him running on the field.I want get some variety shots of him running which  will link into what he will be talking about. I'm just waiting for him to reply to that message. I will need to discuss time and where -previous stated.

When I film at the gym when you see the people working out. I have some music that I am going to use and this will show that music helps when you are working out. Music – Snoop Dogg – sweat I thought this was good because it has the words sweat which will work really well when you see the gym members full of sweat working out. Another song track I thought was good is Danzel – pump it up. It links in well when you see the gym members working out and putting all their strength into the equipment.

 The music video itself works well to the dancers working out. I think it's alright workout song to use in my documentary. It's all about working on that body and pushing yourself to achieve your goal. 

What's left to do:

I just need to finish off finalizing my questions for my interviewees which I have finished during lesson today - Tuesday 16th April.I just need to print off the questions, cut them out and stick them in my journal. I will do this today Wednesday 17th April. I just need to stick them in my book.Once I know more dates and times with my other interviewees- (professionals),then I can add that to my production schedule. I need to add my friend Jamie to my production schedule which I will do tomorrow-Wednesday 17th April - done.  I just need to add Tom to my production Diary.I have typed up my primary questions - qualitative data which I asked Adam some questions why he doesn't eat healthy/keep fit. This was done on Wednesday - 28th March- completed. I just typed it up today where it's a lot neater and I just need to print it off- Tuesday 16th April.I have printed it off, I just have to glue it in-Friday 18th April. I just need to finalize my script which I have done, but I just need to add a bit more stuff to it, so It's set out. I have completed this on Wednesday 17 th April. I will just need to print it off after finalizing it. I will try and get it done by Friday.Just needs to be printed off and stuck in - Friday 19th April.

On internet safety

1.       Why do you think it’s important to keep your personal details to yourself?
They’re personal for a reason... Because you don’t want anyone else to get hold of them and use them for fraud.

2.       Do you think the internet is safe? If yes say why?
Aspects of it are; successful websites/ companies have expectations to maintain and could be sued costly amounts/ lose profit if they can’t live up to their expectations. It’s your responsibility to be careful

If No say why?
There are sites out there, nasty websites. They can misuse your personal information- along with other users of the site and their behaviour.

Homework, socialising, blogging, and music

Yes, I shouldn’t really but I do!

6.       Do you think protecting yourself is important if so give a reason why?
Definitely! There are things on the web that I really don’t need to see

Yeah I have mine on private.

Do you ever talk to people you don’t know online?
Yeah, mutual friends. If I don’t have a clue who they are and they seem a bit dodgy I decline their friend requests, even if it is a bit harsh.

I don’t give out my password and I don’t search/ post anything I shouldn’t.

Do you have protection software on your computer?
Errm I’m not too sure, probably.

Yeah you should report it, and block and delete that person(s).

Do you think online shopping is safe? If so why
It depends if it’s a well trusted site. New Look etc would be fine, but I wouldn’t give out card details to a store I’ve never heard before!

As always, there are fake websites out there just to get your details and take your money... Be careful!

Would you ever put your bank details online?
If it’s a reliable site.
If yes why?
Major companies wouldn’t rip you off, it’d be bad publicity and they’d make far less money this way, so there’s no point, really.

Structure - my documentary


First structure of my documentary will be: having an opening sequence of my title Internet safety with images of that relate to keeping safe online in a four way grid with the title in the middle bold so it’s like the main focus of the documentary. With my research background information of Pete Davies (CEOP) of how he became a police CEOP  with this content it will have a picture of him with the key information on the CEOP of what that actually involves so for e.g. how he became one of these CEOPS , what’s the content of the job role , good points and bad points of a CEOP . The statistics of the job role of a CEOP with the job on how it protects young children in the safe guard of their responsibility of keeping young children safe within the environment. The number of arrest that have been made within the safeguard locking up people who have been caught or who have been wreck less with their lives also showing the statistics data/ With a blank page have a title of what is safeguarding because some people don’t  know what it is and what’s it about? It be good for people to know what it is!! With the facts coming up after with facts of bullying with percentage of adults and young people being fully physical abuse or extreme of bullying in difficult circumstances. The research background information about the cbbc about keeping safe info this can be headed with a title in bold capital letters across the middle of the page with the five rules but individual come up on screen with bold writing but pictures of each statement so it’s clear and very understanding of what not to do !!! The next scene can be with my own primary research of other peoples opinion on how they keep safe online whether think it is important to keep safe online or not, if they protect themselves online when comes to social networking or online shopping statistics data. This can be put in as graph of others people’s opinion about this that pops up on screen with all the figures.


In conclusion I think overall of the information I have researched into is pretty big with allot of research, with primary and secondary research into the subject Internet Safety. Think this will sustain a documentary, as it has the key facts on internet safety, statistics , background info on  a man working as a CEOP police, info on internet how to stay safe online and how to keep protected online. With the use of transitions added to the documentary to give it that fun factor to it. Overall I think the information will come across to people with the use of key information, diagrams, statistics data that will help people today with keeping safe online today.
